POLICE have confirmed that a man has died following a road traffic collision in Radnorshire at the weekend.

The man, a motorcyclist, was involved in a single vehicle crash on the A470 between Rhayader and Llangurig at around 8.55am on Sunday morning (October 8).

“Dyfed Powys Police is appealing for witnesses to a single vehicle road traffic collision, which occurred on the A470 between Rhayader and Llangurig at around 8.55am on Sunday morning,” the force said.

“The male rider of a black KTM Super Duke motorcycle sadly died at the scene. Next of kin have been advised and are being supported by specialist officers.

“If anyone has any information on this incident or may have been travelling along the A470 at the relevant time, please contact Dyfed Powys Police.”

Police and Traffic Wales confirmed the A470 was closed in both directions following the crash and would remain shut for some time. Traffic Wales tweeted that the road had been reopened at around 4.30pm.
