A MAN has died following a fatal road traffic collision on a busy Powys road earlier today.

The crash occurred shortly after 5am on Wednesday, March 22, on the A470 between Brecon and the Storey Arms.

A 48-year-old man was declared dead at the scene, while two other men have been taken to hospital.

“We are appealing for information following a fatal collision on the A470 Storey Arms to Brecon early this morning,” said Dyfed Powys Police in a statement.

“Officers remain at the scene of the serious collision, involving a black Ford Focus, following a report at shortly after 5am.

“Sadly, a 48-year-old man was declared dead at the scene. Two men were taken to hospital with serious injuries.

“The road was closed for several hours and reopened shortly after 3pm.”
