Biker dies after crash on A487 near Machynlleth

A motorcyclist has died almost a week after he was involved in a road traffic collision near Machynlleth.

The man, who was aged in his 50’s and from the Lancashire area, died at Morriston Hospital in Swansea on Friday morning.

North Wales Police are investigating the one-vehicle collision which happened shortly before 1:20pm on Saturday, July 9 on the A487 in Pantperthog.

The motorcyclist was airlifted to hospital in Swansea by the Air Ambulance.

PC Rhys Williams of the Roads Policing Unit said: “Sadly we can confirm that the man died earlier this morning and our thoughts remain with his family.

“The collision is being investigated and we are appealing for any witnesses to contact us.”

The Coroner for the Swansea area has been informed.

Anybody who may have information that could assist the investigation is asked to contact officers at the Roads Policing Unit on 101, quoting reference number V102562.

 

 

 

North Wales Police are not yet in a position to release the deceased’s details.
