JAMIE Evans starred with a hat-trick as Morda United prevailed 5-3 winners of Berriew Reserves in the quarter-final of the Llansantffraid Village Cup.

Goals from Harry Davies and Liam Edwards clinched United’s progress while the Rhiewsiders were always in the hunt thanks to replies from Brad Carr, Josh Gethin and an own goal.

Elsewhere Llanymynech maintained their good form with a 3-2 win at home to Llanfair United Reserves in Honda Division One of the J T Hughes Montgomeryshire League.

Lee Rogers, Callum Whyte and an own goal edged the spoils for the inform hosts and cancelled replies from Toby Evans and Callum Foulkes for United.

The rest of the J T Hughes Montgomeryshire League and cups programme was cancelled.
