Central Wales Cup

LLANIDLOES Town hit back to overcome Dolgellau Athletic 3-1 and set up a Central Wales Cup quarter-final derby at Caersws.

The hosts led inside the opening three minutes with Dominic Thomas following up after David Edwards’ shot was spilled by visiting goalkeeper Aaron Warwick.

Llani stuck to their task and were back on terms just before the break with Josh Evans’ cross headed in by Matt Savage.

Llanidloes started the second-half on top and it was no surprise when Joe Evans breached the hosts offside trap to square for Rhys Evans to slot home on the hour.

Ten minutes later the visitors sealed their victory when Joe Evans seized upon a defensive lapse to net.

Central Wales Cup, quarter-final draw (ties to be played, March 4):  Carno v Rhayader Town; Penrhyncoch v Llanrhaeadr; Caersws v Llanidloes Town; Aberaeron v Radnor Valley or Tywyn  Bryncrug.
