Spar Mid Wales Lge One

CONNOR Bird struck late to save Knighton Town a point in a 1-1 draw at Spar Mid Wales League One leaders Rhayader Town.

Tom Bethell gave the Red Kites the lead but the Robins were not to be denied with Bird marking his first appearance of the campaign with a late equaliser.

Meanwhile Welshpool Town snatched a last gasp equaliser to earn a point in a 3-3 draw Friday night thriller at home to Machynlleth.

Andrew Page gave the visitors an early lead only for joint player-manager Neil Pryce to respond with a brace to as Welshpool carved an interval lead.

Machynlleth stormed back to lead after the break with Page completing his hat-trick but with seconds remaining Christian Webster delivered a cross for Sam Evans to save Pool a point.

Llandrindod Wells top scored with Elliot Williams bagging four goals in a 7-1 romp at Montgomery Town while a Robbie Nicholls double and Shaun Nicholls strike completed the rout with Tom Evans mustering a consolation.

Berriew were among the goals with Richard Davies and Steffan Rogers both completing braces in a 6-1 win at home to Tywyn Bryncrug with Karl Seliaerts and Rob Pritchard also on target while Mark Edmonson replied.

Carno maintained their pressure at the top with a 4-1 win at Aberaeron as goals from Peter Rees, Richie Evans, Gregg Brown and Ashley Owen won the day.

The Seasiders reduced the arrears through Mattie Davies but denied further reward with goalkeeper Kris Williams producing a penalty save to keep the Greens flying.

Llanrhaeadr prevailed 2-1 winners at home to Bow Street with goals from Iwan Matthews and Marc Griffiths cancelling out an early strike from Steffan Richards.

Meanwhile Llanidloes Town earned a 2-1 win at home to Radnor Valley having opened the scoring through an early own goal.

A mistake by goalkeeper Aaron Warwick allowed Joey Price to level for the villagers before the Daffodils hit back after the break with Rhys Evans lashing home from 20 yards.
