KIERAN Evans fired Llanrhaeadr to a 2-1 win over Caersws to end the Bluebirds Central Wales Cup defence on Tuesday night.

The much delayed third round clash came to life inside the opening minute with Evans firing the Spar Mid Wales League One side ahead.

Despite the Bluebirds levelling through Elliot Jones on 30 minutes the visitors regained their lead just moments later with Evans completing his brace.

Llanrhaeadr continued to threaten through Iwan Matthews while Caersws failed to make the most of their second-half dominance as Daryl Rogers, Josh Hartrick, Sion Clarke and Jones spurned openings.

Llanrhaeadr now travel to Machynlleth on Saturday in the fourth round.
